Ref. 27916-5EXCITED youngsters put on their costumes for the dress rehearsal of their Gang Show which is already almost a sell-out.
Brownies, Guides, Scouts and Cubs from the Swindon area put on the variety show of song and dance every 18 months when more than 100 youngsters aged from eight to 25 show off their talent. The 2nd Cricklade Cubs leader Anne Francis said: "Some of the children belong to dance schools while others are just really keen to have a go.
"Every time they perform I am just amazed by their sheer professionalism. It's a great show to see as they really do put it over."
This year's acts include a carnival and a Christmas theme. It is also the 50th anniversary of the Gang Shows being started in Britain by Eric Reader who entertained the troops in World War Two.
One sketch needed a goose, which was provided by E and H James' butchers in High Street, Cricklade, who stepped into the breach and offered to lend his goose display lamp.
The Gang Show will be performed at the Wyvern Theatre from Wednesday until Saturday at 7.30pm. A 2.30pm matinee on Saturday is sold out.
Tickets cost £7 for Wednesday and Thursday evening shows and £9 for Friday and Saturday . For bookings call the Wyvern Theatre on 01793 524481.
