A NEW driver has been left distraught after the car she had for just three weeks was vandalised.
Kelly Von Steuben, who recently passed her driving test, had parked the vehicle behind her flat in Cricklade Road, Gorse Hill and woke up to find it completely smashed.
Three alloy wheels had been stolen and the rear windows of her Red Peugeot 106 had been smashed.
The 21-year-old, who has only been driving for three months, says the incident has unsettled her so much she has had to take time off her work as a cashier.
Now she wants anyone with information to contact the police.
She said: "It makes me feel really unsafe, I haven't slept very well over the past couple of days.
"It has made me really upset. It was so deliberate. I think it was planned and done by more than one person.
"I don't have a stereo but they pulled the back seat covers off and ripped up the carpet in the boot. They caused so much damage."
Her alloy wheels cost £100 each and she had just forked out £2,500 for her Peugeot.
"It's heartbreaking. This was my first time on the road in a proper car and I was excited about it.The garage says it might be a write-off. I am waiting to see if I will ever get it on the road again."
The damage was caused sometime during Wednesday night. Kelly has reported the incident to the police.
Anyone with information about the attack should call Swindon Police on 01793 528111.
