Ref. 11589/1THE Honey Bears Nursery will soon have a brand new play area thanks to a grant from the lottery.
The nursery, based at Buckley Barracks, Hullavington, provides day care for children of military personnel and the local community.
It is part of a tri-school programme, with a crche, pre-school and after school club.
The nursery, which has 33 children, has not got its own outdoor play area and the youngsters have to use the pre-school play area when it is not being used by the older children.
But the National Lottery's Awards For All programme has come to the rescue with a grant of £1,990.
"It was brilliant news," said nursery supervisor Kelly Langman.
"We are constantly raising money for all kinds of things, and it was fantastic to get this boost."
She said they would create a play area with a safe soft surface and play equipment.
Captain Claire Cobley of the 9 Supply Regiment said the nursery was run by the regiment but it was very much a community facility and was self financing.
The pre school has also benefited from the gift of a computer from a company run by former soldier Chris Smith. He heard about the tri-school and made the donation so children can learn about computing and can even email their parents if they are serving abroad. It also had a computer given by the Iceland Distribution Department in Swindon, which raises money for community projects.
