Aubrey Carter was bound over to keep the peace for a year by magistrates last week following a row with his wife at their home in Jasmine Way on October 3.
Chippenham magistrates heard how Mr Carter, 31, and his wife Jennifer fought after she told him to leave the house. The couple, who have been married for five years, argued inside the house before continuing the altercation outside in the street.
Both parties were involved in pushing and shoving and, when Mr Carter made a grab for his wife's car keys, Mrs Carter fell to the floor, hitting her head and sustaining minor injuries.
Defending, Mrs Em Wrench said Mr Carter had become angry, but had no intention of injuring his wife.
The court ordered Carter to be bound over to keep the peace, with particular reference to his wife, for one year. An accompanying charge of actual bodily harm was dismissed.
