CHILDREN at Chippenham's Ivy Lane School dressed in costumes from around the world last week to celebrate reading.
They were taking part in the school's book week which this year had a multicultural theme.
The aim of the week is to encourage children to enjoy reading.
During the week guests came into the school to tell pupils stories and poems.
Speakers included representatives from the Poets In School group and the Whale And Dolphin Society.
The Jack-In-The-Box theatre group staged the fairytale classic The Emperor's New Clothes and also the Greek tragedy Persephone.
Literacy co-ordinator Sarah Davis said: "The children had a great time and they really enjoyed dressing up.
"It's a bit like when children play and they're learning without even realising it. "
