PURTON Reserves failed to keep tabs on Bradford Town's top scorer Tom Pang and the young striker scored four times in his side's 5-1 victory at the Red House.

Pang struck twice in the first half to give the Town a 2-0 advantage at the break, but must have thought his efforts were in vain soon after, when the visitors had Stuart Powell sent off for a second bookable offence.

The home side then held the initiative for a brief spell and pulled a goal back through Simon Pugh, but two more goals from Pang and one from Steve Wickens gave the ten men a deserved victory.

The four goals from the Bradford striker brought his season's tally to 24.

Purton boss Ian Restell said: " We played quite well, but they had a quality striker and were very lively up front. That was the difference between the sides."

AFC Stratton's game with Wroughton was called off, which allowed leaders Trowbridge Town to pull seven points clear of the Swindon side after completing a league and cup double over their nearest rivals Biddestone.

Two goals in the first 25 minutes settled Biddestone's fate, Dave Percival taking advantage of some indifferent marking to score the first, and Gavin Eyre finding himself free on the edge of the box to rifled a low shot into the bottom corner of the net for a second.

In a fairly even second half the visitors tried hard to pull a goal back, but the Town defended their lead well and were always dangerous on the break.

A last-minute goal denied Chiseldon Castrol victory over Malmesbury Vics. Mark Lester with a 30-yard special gave the vistors a share of the points in a 2-2 draw.

Aidie O'Connell gave Castrol the lead with a 20-yarder after just five minutes, the Vics fighting back to level the scores with a strike from Neil Witchard to send the sides in level at the break.

Wayne Clarke made it 2-1 and Nick Camden hit the bar with a good effort that could have sealed the game. However, with almost the last kick of the game Lester gave his side a point.

Aldbourne moved into the top half of the table following a 5-0 win over visitors Pewsey Vale, the goals coming from Dave Levitt, Jimmy Wright, Steve Hewitt, Gavin Baron and an own goal.

Shrewton Utd Reserves beat Marlborough Town 3-1 with Danny Weston taking advantage of a poor clearance to give United a first half lead. Jamie Reid provided a good cross for Alan Maggs to score at the near post, and Steve Rogers added a third.

Warminster Town beat Corsham 2-0. Rich Luke and Ashly Wain scored.

In Junior Division 1 Bromham, unbeaten since August, went second spot after a 3-2 win at Down Ampney.

Craig Dixon gave Ampney an early lead, Lee Davies replying twice before the break. Bobby Murdoch equalised after the restart but Darren Brown emerged the Bromham hero, scoring the winner ten minutes from time.

The derby between Blunsdon United and Cricklade ended in a 2-1 victory for the visitors. Danny Pearson gave United the lead at the interval, Dave Devine and Craig Ratcliffe scored second half goals for Cricklade. Wootton Bassett United made league leaders Trowbridge Town pull out all the stops to leave Ballards Ash with a 3-3 draw.

Matt Minnus scored twice put the leaders in the driving seat but a second half penalty from Danny Groom and Robin Gray's goal levelled the scores.

Disaster then struck for the home side when Sean Walsh put through his own goal but John Davies' cracking 30-yarder earned Bassett a point.

In an entertaining game at Wanborough, the home side were held to 2-2 draw by AFC Stratton Reserves.

A goal by Steve Stewart gave Stratton a first-half lead, but found themselves down to ten men five minutes into the second-half when Scott Rouse received a red card. Goals by Steve Shaw and John Anglis enabled the home side to take the lead, but Anthony McCusker salvaged a point for the visitors in the closing stages.

A hat-trick from Arran Hellawell and two from Rob Griffin gave Ferndale Rodbourne a 5-0 win at Marlborough, and Aldbourne Reserves shared the points in a 2-2 draw at Biddestone.
