I WOULD refer to the copy of a Daily Telegraph article which appeared in the Gazette recently.
The article entitled Non Jobs of the Week referred to the five strategic managers to be employed by the NWDC at a salary of £60,000 plus a car. It must be recognised that we taxpayers in North Wiltshire are not alone in providing public sector non jobs complete with handsome salaries and more than generous pensions.
In the Guardian recently there appeared in the public sector sits.vac. page ,management posts for walking officers (to promote walking) and real nappy officers(to encourage mothers to discontinue using disposal nappies in favour of boiling smelly cloths)
Is it any wonder that the number of public sector jobs has risen by 18,0000 in the last year and their share of the nations cake is now 22 per cent, a level that cannot be sustained.
