WESTBURY had their keeper sent off before half-time but from the scoreline it looked as if Devizes were the ones a man short.

Devizes Town assistant manager Shaun Moffat was left shaking his head in disbeleife after his side's display.

He said: "We knew Westbury were a good side and they like to battle. We knew a lot about their players, especially the two front lads.

"But it was just one of those games when every shot they had went in. I don't think I would be exaggerating if I said they had nine shots and eight went in and I honestly don't think our keeper had a chance with any of them.

"Their keeper was sent off five minutes before half-time, but they just kept coming at us. We went in at half-time still upbeat that they were down to ten men and we could come out, attack them and get something from the game.

"But all that did was to inspire them and they kept pumping it up to the front men who held it up really well to allow the support to get to them.''

He said the players were shattered by the result.

"Everyone was absolutely gutted. They were really hurting to have lost by that amount, but that's football and it happens now and again.'' he said.

Former Devizes striker Jerad O'Pray claimed his first hat-trick of the season for Westbury, while the other goals were scored by Steve Perkins, two, Wayne Wheeler, Mark Pearce and Toby Colbourne.

O'Pray opened the scoring on eight minutes, Simon Drewitt equalised, after ghosting in unmarked at the back post, for Devizes on 17 minutes.

Westbury regained the lead on the half hour after Devizes keeper, Jez Hare, fluffed his clearance to give Perkins the simple task of slotting the ball into the empty net.

Batters was dismissed for punching the ball outside his area and 18-year-old replacement keeper Lewis Porter barely had time to get his thoughts together before Steve Campbell had hit the resulting free-kick past him and into the net to equalise.

Devizes then enjoyed a period of sustained pressure and were only denied the lead by some good goalkeeping by 18-year-old Porter.

O'Pray gave Westbury the lead again on the stroke of half time with a scorching 25 yard left footed strike into the top corner of the net.

The crowd were expecting Devizes to take control in the second half but Westbury had different ideas.

Perkins scored his second of the game to put them 4-2 up on 47 minutes. Colbourne crossed the ball to Seals, whose shot was saved by Hare but Perkins was on hand to finish the rebound.

Devizes were falling apart under the onslaught and a skilful move by Colbourne and O'Pray allowed Wheeler to tap home the fifth from six yards on 56 minutes.

Seven minutes later the score was 6-2 after Pearce got on the end of an O'Pray free kick to hook the ball into the net.

Less than a minute later, a shell shocked Devizes had handed possession to Wheeler and his cross was met by O'Pray who headed home his third of the match and his sides seventh.

Devizes pulled another consolation goal back on 76 minutes when Justin Lisle took advantage of a slip by Porter.

But Colbourne had the last say when he hit a 30 yard shot past Hare.
