CHIPPENHAM'S Under 14s handed out a ten try demolition in an impressive display on Sunday to their visitors in a one-sided Bristol Combination Cup semi-final at Allington Field.

The unfortunate recipients were Cinderford. The Cinderford team were never able to come to terms with the home side's scintillating play in a match played in difficult weather conditions. To their credit, Cinderford refused to be taken over completely and shaded the scrummaging battle due to their larger pack.

The Chippenham players however, were far too quick and skilful when in possession of the ball, and their defence never allowed Cinderford to make any use of what possession they managed to gain.

From the fifth minute when Chippenham scored from a driving maul after a lineout and flanker Nick Bendry touching down, the home team were dominant and ran in tries almost at will.

Leading the way with a hat-trick of tries was scrum-half Daniel East playing on the wing. Centre Callum Fannin and winger Ollie Morris, returning from injury, added two tries apiece. Bendry added his second try and was joined on the scoresheet by fellow flanker Andrew Bailey.

Team captain Tom Boreham added six conversions to leave the final score at 62-0.

Chippenham will now meet Cleve in the final of the competition.

Chippenham U15s 15 Bath U15s 5

IN wet and cold playing conditions at Allington Field on Sunday, Chippenham's Under 15 played host to near neighbours and rivals, Bath Under 15s in a friendly fixture.

With both teams fielding under-strength sides due to County commitments and injuries, it was Chippenham starting with a blustery wind behind them, that soon established a style of driving runs and mauls which kept the visitors back in defence.

The pressure eventually told and resulted in an unconverted try for Max Sparrow. More pressure from Chippenham followed and allowed Ashley Brown to power his way over for a second unconverted try.

Jason Deamer completed a backs move to run in a third try bringing the score to 15-0 at the half-time break.

A fired up and determined Bath pack combined well after the break and play see-sawed between the two respective 22metre lines as each side pressed for dominance.

Towards the end of the game, Chippenham's Mike Harvey was sin-binned for over robust use of the boot at a ruck.

It was while Chippenham were reduced to 14 players that Bath took advantage of a kick and chase from the half-way line to find themselves ten metres from the Chippenham line.

Quick support play gave Bath a well-deserved score but which they failed to convert.
