PIRATES have dropped anchor in a Trowbridge school playground after months of fundraising. Wingfield Primary School launched a pirate ship on Friday for pupils to use during playtimes.
HMS Wingfield was funded by donations from local businesses after teachers and parents sent hundreds of letters asking for help.
Sally Hornby, secretary of the Friends of Wingfield Primary School, said: "We had to raise a lot of the money ourselves and contacted many local businesses.
"We would like to thank Bishop, Longbotham and Bagnell solicitors, Davies and Davies estate agents, Dyson Hoover, National Trust, Center Parcs, Assam restaurant and Chicago Rock for their donations."
