Ref. 27610FIVE generations from the same family, spanning nearly 100 years, have celebrated the first birthday of the newest member.
The Barber family from Westbury now ranges from a one-year-old James Walters to 99-year-old great-great-grandmother Unity Simpson.
Over 40 family members bridging the 98-year gap met at a reunion at Southwick Village Hall on Saturday afternoon.
Grandad Ken Barber, from Southwick, said: "There must be loads of families like ours but you just don't hear about them.
"With such a large family it can be difficult to get together so James' birthday was a good excuse.
"James great-great-grandmother was not surprised about her new title. She takes everything in her stride and is just happy to have another child to love."
Mr Barber, 58, moved to Westbury in 1959 with his family to work at British Telecom in Trowbridge.
Although some family members have moved away James' mother Sarah Walters, 30, and 81-year-old great-grandmother Olive Barber made the trip to join the party.
