TEENAGE karaoke sensation Kimberley Seviour is a step closer to a £10,000 prize after winning a regional singing competition.
The 18-year-old, of Beanacre, near Melksham, beat hundreds of budding vocalists to make it through three rounds of a national competition.
She won a £250 holiday voucher last week by singing Hey Big Spender in the Karaoke Krazy contest run by the Hungry Horse chain of pubs.
Kimberley will now travel to the national final in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, on December 5 where she will face a panel of judges, including Jacey Sallis, who played Romana in the ITV series Cold Feet.
The former Corsham School pupil, who works at Virgin Mobile, has also won prizes in Trowbridge's Starry Eyes karaoke competition.
She said: "I was quite shocked when they read out my name because I thought other people were going to win it. I'm excited about going through to the next round.
"I have been singing since I was little. I'm a bit of an attention seeker and love being on stage."
If Kimberley wins the £10,000 prize she will use it as a deposit to buy her own home.
Hungry Horse's marketing manager David Scott said: "The talent has been outstanding at all of the heats, but most importantly everyone has had a lot of fun taking part."
A percentage of the money raised through the competition is being donated to cancer information service CancerBACUP.
