SUPERMARINE chairman Steve Moore has issued a rallying cry for local football fans to descend on Hunts Copse and cheer his club through to the third round of the FA Trophy.
Marine entertain Ryman League Maidenhead tomorrow, and with Swindon Town making the long trek to Hartlepool, the Borough's leading semi-professional outfit are hoping to borrow some fan power for the afternoon.
Said Moore: "With Swindon playing away I would like to urge all local football fans to turn up and cheer us on particularly the 'Barmy Army'.
"The vocal support can make all the difference.
"When the fans have turned up in numbers previously it has always given the team a lift.
"We're not looking beyond this game at the moment, we'll do well to beat a side like this and that's all we're thinking about.
"But we did very well to get through the last round against Grantham and it would be great to get a run going it can really give the club a boost."
The 3-2 victory over Dr Martens Premier Division Grantham has been the highlight of an encouraging campaign under Ray Baverstock's charge.
Marine continue to hover at the cut-off point for the new look Premier Division but the club have not enjoyed a major cup run of note for several seasons.
And with Conference clubs entering the fray in the next round plus £3,000 prize money at stake, manager Baverstock believes the game gives Marine the perfect platform to shake off their reputation as Dr Martens League strugglers.
He said: "It would be nice to get a decent crowd at the game just to show people how far we've come after two seasons at the bottom of the table.
"The Conference sides come in in the next round too so that's an incentive for us.
"I don't know a great deal about Maidenhead but I expect they are coming here thinking they've got a good chance of going through.
"But if we can be on our game like we were against Grantham in the last round then we'll have a chance."
Marine will be without midfielder Dave Slattery who begins a four-game ban following his sending off in the Wiltshire Premier Shield clash with Chippenham.
Andy Grainge has completed a three-match suspension but is unavailable due to work commitments.
Maidenhead are currently 11th in the Ryman Premier and are likely to prove a stern test for Baverstock's side.
Their success this season has been built on a solid defence, having conceded just four goals in their last eight contests.
They will arrive at Hunts Copse in good form too, with wins over Hayes and Aylesbury under their belts from their last two outings.
The Berkshire side are expected to bring around 100 travelling fans to bolster Moore's hopes of a season-high attendance.
