Ref. 27613KIND-HEARTED students put their fitness levels to the test in a bid to donate cash for a specialist school.
Over 200 John of Gaunt pupils took part in a sponsored shuttle run raising £1,000 for disabled students at Larkrise School.
But staff at the school were so surprised to receive such a large amount they have yet to decide where the cash will be spent after the cheque was donated on Tuesday morning.
Margaret Douglas, teacher at Larkrise, said: "We knew they were going to donate some money but never in our wildest dreams thought it would be £1,000.
"We had planned to spend the money on a picnic table for wheelchair users but if we did that now we would have lots of money left over.
"I think it is sensible to gather the teachers together and discuss what we should do."
Every year pupils from the school hold a fundraising event.
The cheque was presented to teachers by year 8 pupil David Deighton during an assembly held on Tuesday morning.
