THE success of this year's vintage bus run in Warminster has seen almost £400 raised for Guide Dogs for the Blind from its proceeds.
The 10th annual Warminster and West Wilts Bus Running Day on September 14 netted £381 for the charity, which was officially presented at The George Inn, Longbridge Deverill, on Saturday.
Of that sum £51 was raised jointly by the ice cream van on the day and the Friends of Warminster Tourist Information Centre, with the remainder coming from programme sales.
Bob Eade, the event's honorary president, said: "About 20 years ago my wife met a couple with a blind son running a stall for the charity at a traction engine rally near Bath. We got the idea then and when the bus run started up we adopted it as our charity."
