WORLD Aids Day on Mon-day, December 1, will be marked in Swindon with a special religious service.
The Rev Phil Hoar will lead an hour of prayers and hymns at the Pilgrim Centre in Regent Circus, beginning at 7pm.
World Aids Day promotes awareness of Aids and HIV.
Since the worldwide emergence of the illness in the early to mid 1980s, it has affected some 42 million people from all backgrounds.
The Swindon evening, sponsored by the council and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Coalition, will include time for silent prayer and reflection and the opportunity to light candles.
All are welcome to attend, and further details are available on 01793 463497.
