BOTH local indoor clubs will be looking to get back on the winning trail in the Wessex League tomorrow.
Westlecot and Thamesdown men were both beaten in their last East Region group matches a fortnight ago.
The former went down 78-68 to Carterton, who topped the section last season. They only collected two points for a single rink win out of a possible 16 points.
Oasis-based Thamesdown lost 90-79 to Oxford City and County, a side who they had comfortably beaten 12 months earlier. They collected three points out of 16 for one win and a drawn rink.
Thamesdown face the other Oxford side tomorrow Oxford and District but have been rocked by the news that skip Gary Morphet, probably their best player, has decided to pull-out of all Wessex League games in future this season for family reasons.
It is a big blow to the club as he has been Thamesdown's most successful skip in Denny Cup, Denny Plate and Wessex League matches over the past few seasons.
Westlecot, beaten quarter-finalists in the Denny Cup and losing Wessex League play-off semi-finalists last season, have had a miserable last fortnight.
They lost to Carterton in the league and then last Saturday crashed out of the Denny Cup to MidGlos.
They will be looking to right the listing ship when they face local rivals Fairford tomorrow in their third Wessex League group match.
