A WROUGHTON drama society has invited top interior designer Laurence Llewellyn Bowen to attend its pantomime.
Wroughton Amateur Dramatic and Music Society told the flamboyant Changing Rooms star he was welcome to come to Little Red Riding Hood at the Ellendune Hall because it features three little pigs named Laurence, Llewellyn and Bowen.
But he had to turn down the offer because he is currently appearing in a pantomime himself.
WADAMS member Sally Parker said: "We had a handwritten letter back from his wife, Jacqueline, wishing us good luck but explaining that he too was in pantomime so could not come to ours."
The Wroughton pantomime is based on the classic story of Little Red Riding Hood and was written by Rob and Tina Burbidge.
They chose Little Red Riding Hood because they wanted to write a traditional pantomime and the society had not tackled it before.
As well as writing duties, Rob stars as the wolf and Tina as one of the three little pigs.
Tina's parents, Jenny and Dave Burbidge, also have parts in the show.
The leading roles are taken by Charlotte Davey, 14, as Red Riding Hood, and Florence Barrett, 15, playing the principal boy, Billy.
The pantomime will run from December 18 to 20, with performances at 7.30pm and a 2.30pm matinee.
Sally said: "These are their first principal roles with WADAMS.''
Tickets for the pantomime cost £5, with concessions available at £4, and further details are available on 01793 813847 or at the hall itself.
