Cirencester Town extended their run to eight straight league wins with a convincing 3-0 success over second-placed Rugby United.
On a blustery afternoon it took some time for the players to adjust to the difficult conditions.
On 15 minutes Cirencester created the first real opening of the game when Andy McCabe broke free to the edge of the box and his angled shot was well saved by keeper Jason Pearcey.
Two minutes later Ciren opened the scoring when Rugby failed to clear a Ben Fitch corner.
Jody Bevan's shot was blocked, but Darren Robison followed up to beat Pearcey from close range.
Within five minutes they had increased their lead.
Bevan played the ball out wide from inside his own half, which allowed Fitch to run at the defence and get in a pinpoint cross for Scott Griffin, who cleverly slotted in at the far post.
Midway through the half Rugby had their best chance of the game when Justin Marsden worked his way past the last defender but he was unlucky when his low shot from 12 yards out skidded past the wrong side of the post.
Just before the break Jamie Williams's header was only just wide from a Pearson cross.
In the second half Fitch's pace caused problems for the visitors, but two of his telling crosses were wasted.
Cirencester put the game beyond doubt after 62 minutes.
Another fine run from Fitch ended with him being brought down in the box by Andy Commander, and Bevan made no mistake from the penalty spot.
Rugby, to their credit, did not give up, and Marsden was unlucky when his solo effort finished with a powerful shot which cannoned back off the upright, and Pearson was only just wide with his first time shot from the rebound.
Cirencester had control in the closing stages with Griffin and Adam Mayo going close to increasing the lead.
