Wootton Bassett Town Ladies and Swindon Spitfires fought out a thrilling 3-3 draw in their latest County League match.
The game saw differing fortunes in each half with home side Bassett dominating the first period with goals from Catherine Reid and Kirsty Hulse on another wet and windy afternoon at Ballards Ash.
After missing several chances from their early pressure Bassett took the lead after a slick move down the right culminating in a fine goal from Reid.
Spitfires, however, shocked the home side when, against the run of play, they scored when Bassett failed to clear a ball from a corner.
Jodi Steenaart then made a fine save diving to her right to force the ball wide of her post.
Bassett, however, continued to pressure and the hard-working Hulse finished off a move down the left with an individual goal.
Spitfires looked the stronger in the second half and soon equalised.
Bassett started to look tired and disjointed in the heavy conditions, and then went behind for the first time in the game. But they found another gear in the later stages and in the dying minute Tash Burson earned the home side a draw with a fine strike.
Bassett's next game is away to league leaders Chippenham Town.
SWINDON Town Ladies went down to a 9-1 defeat at the hands of Oxford City in their South West Combination League encounter.
Hosts Oxford took the lead as early as the sixth minute and went further ahead in the 11th minute before Town struck six minutes later when Carly Smith chased keeper Tasha Chapman's long clearance and outpaced the defenders before slotting past the advancing City keeper.
It was their only joy, however, as the home side established a 5-1 lead at the break before going on to win comfortably.

Town Reserves defeated Brize Norton 6-0 in the Wiltshire County League. Sam Quinn (2), Holly Burton (2), Melissa Sartain and Laura Allsop were on target.
