CORSHAM slipped to a disappointing 17-0 defeat to neighbouring Cooper-Avon Tyres in Saturday's Dorset & Wilts Division One derby.
The local derby provided few memorable moments of rugby, the conditions and intense nature of the game dictating play. A Lee Dudbridge try gave the Melksham side an early lead and after a niggly, forward-orientated battle, compounded by the sin-binnings of home full-back Paul Simmons and the visitors' Roy Hewett, Matty Glover touched down an opportunist try to avenge an earlier National Vase defeat
TRIES from Justin King (2), Mark Hunt and Simon Sharp, and two conversions and a penalty from David Worker gave Malmesbury a 27-14 win over Wootton Bassett 3rd. The visitors' tries came from Stacey Cohen and Woody Briggs, converted by Rob Bloxham.
