HEAVY workloads are having a serious effect on health, it is claimed.

A survey of nearly 550 adults aged 25 and over shows that many are struggling to lead healthy lives in the fast lane.

It seems that many can't leave the pressures of the office behind at clock-out time.

One in five admit to taking work home to finish over the weekend, while half of all respondents reported feeling stressed at the weekend at least once a month.

In addition, some 62 per cent say their sex drive has taken a battering, while 61 per cent spend only 15 to 30 minutes eating their evening meal with 80 per cent admitting to excessive alcohol consumption to help beat the stress after a hard day's graft.
