WE at the Swan Sanctuary would like to thank Linda, and all other friends, that helped with the collection outside the shops at Lawn.
It has made us realise that there are very many people out there that do care about their local wildlife. Sadly it took the shooting of local swans to bring it home to us how much we depend on our wildlife for enjoyment.
The amount raised was a wonderful £180.51. Which was amazing. Thank you to everyone that supported the collection, and thank you to the shop keepers who assisted in Linda's fundraising.
Our female swan that almost lost her eye, is happily making a good recovery, although isn't eating as well as we would like, but that will take quite a time yet. The pellet we think is making its way to the surface as she is scratching it a lot. Three of the four cygnets were released at Coate Water two days ago, and seem to be doing fine. The fourth one is still immature, so is staying with mum for a few more months.
Thank you once again to you all for the support you have shown.
