WOOTTON Bassett are celebrating more junior honours after three of their colts, hooker Nick Moore, scrum-half Owen Vale and centre Ollie Gray played for the under 17 Welsh Exiles, who lost 21-12 to their Scottish counterparts.
Former Bassett players, Adrian Hicks (20) and Danny Thomas (18) are both now part of the London Welsh Academy.
Meanwhile, the under 15 squad's B team thrashed Basingstoke 34-0.
No 8 Rhys Cadogan powered over for the opening score, which Russell Barstow converted, and Matt Smith added another with further tries from Dominic O'Neill (2) skipper Tom Jenkins and Smith again, Barstow adding another conversion.
Bassett Under 12s lost their first competitive match for more than nine months as a well-drilled Newbury side picked up a narrow 14-12 victory.
Two tries by Gareth Evans, one of which he converted, were not quite enough as Newbury managed an injury-time score to steal the win.
