With reference to the article that appeared on November 27 in which you told of the problems a young couple were having trying to buy a house in Swindon.
I do agree that for those on low wages the choice can be limited but the couple in your story had a combined income of £30,000 and a mortgage potential of £100,000 (your figures).
At these values they will find over 100 properties on 'fish4homes' in Swindon and even if they wanted a house as opposed to a flat and outright ownership as opposed to shared ownership they will still find three bed houses from £85,000. Yes, at that price the house will probably be ex local authority but there is nothing wrong with that as a first run on the ladder.
