His partner Diane Robinson, 38 and their daughters Amy, 17 and Libby, 13, of Park North, are looking forward to his return, which is scheduled for December 17.
Before he left for the Middle East Craig, 31, entered the competition because if he won it would be a treat for his family at the end of a difficult year. It is his third time in Iraq.
In the New Year, he and Diane, who have been together for seven years, are also planning to get married on a beach in Florida
She said: "It is hard to think about Christmas, it should be a fun time but we miss him.
"He wrote before he went out there and he thought it would a nice end to a difficult year.
"And it will also be a great start to our married life."
