TETBURY earned a good win at Pilning in a game of two halves.
They dominated for large periods, but playing against a strong wind in the first half made any real benefit difficult to come by.
Two penalties by the home side saw Pilning go into half-time 6-0 up, despite some late decisive breaks by the Goldstone brothers and Smith.
But a spirited Tetbury side, with the wind behind them, remained calm and in the second half played some flowing rugby with backs and forwards linking up in attack.
A solid forwards display was rewarded when the ball was shipped out wide, passing through several sets of hands for Reid to score in the corner. The conversion was slotted well by Roberts from wide out.
Solid tackling from Dyer, Conway and Webb snuffed out any Pilning attacks and the game was sealed when Roberts kicked a late penalty.
Tetbury RFC train every Thursday night at the Recreational Ground in the middle of Tetbury from 7pm. The club will be moving to a new 13 acre site of the edge of Tetbury in the near future.
