Anchor Road residents past and present are invited to a trip down memory lane at a reunion on Saturday. Boyhood pals Ian Beaven, 58, and Mick Powley, 63, who share golden memories of their adventures while growing up on the road, have organised the event.
The duo's recollections are so good and the bond they developed with their neighbours so close, they decided to arrange a reunion for people who lived in the street from the 1930s to the 1970s.
Mr Powley, who works as a civil engineer, says he can remember when a gang of boys from Anchor Road
liberated a pig, destined to become bacon rashers and sausages, from the Harris Factory, in Calne, which processed meat.
He said the boys saved the pig from certain death and they felt like heroes, but the pig wandered on to the A4, causing long traffic delays.
Mr Powley's wife Glenda said: "I can't believe the bond between them. They thought it would be nice for everyone to catch up with each other and reminisce about the old days."
The reunion will be held at the Calne Recreational Club, in Anchor Road, at 8pm.
