PUPILS at The Mill School, Potterne, are well into the Christmas spirit. The school's four to seven-year-olds performed the nativity play Michaelmas Mouse, and the school's eight and nine-year-olds took part in the pantomime Cinderella.
Both were performed at the school to packed audiences last week.
Michaelmas Mouse is a musical about a mouse who visits his relatives in Nazareth who are underneath the stable when Jesus is born and are able to see him.
Michaelmas Mouse also scares away a nasty cat called Morz who promises not to bother other mice.
Sylvia Parry, the school's deputy head, said: "It's a cute story and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed it. The music is superb and they enjoyed singing the songs."
Cinderella the Panto is a production that has been written and adapted by the school's head, Lindsey Gill, over the years.
It is the story of how Cinderella wants to go to the ball and how she contends with the Ugly Sisters.
Teacher Roger Willcocks wrote a lot of the music in the panto and new costumes were made by teachers and parents.
On December 12, pupils will perform a carol service at St Mary's Church, Potterne, at 2.30pm.
