CORSHAM recorded their fifth win on the bounce with a comprehensive victory against bottom of the table Ilfracombe.
Assistant manager John Woods said the team was under no illusions their Devonshire opponents would scrap for everything to help them escape the relegation zone.
Corsham Town started the match sluggishly, but quickly stepped up a gear and began to take control.
Gio Sperti's cross found Dan Beck who nodded the ball across the goalmouth allowing Alan Griffin to sneak in and score from close range after 35 minutes.
The second half followed a similar pattern and it took 15 minutes before Dave Kilmurray's cross found Alan Griffin at the far post who headed in his second. Corsham's third came from a corner, which fell to Kilmurray who poked the ball in from six yards out.
The victory takes Corsham into fifth place, five points behind fourth place Hallen, who have a game in hand.
"We have got five wins on the trot, which is great news," Wood said.
"At the start of November we were fifth from bottom and now we're fifth from top.
"This is a confidence game and a couple of wins can make all the difference.
"But we have a lot of hard work left to do, but we're finding goals easier to come by, which was a problem at the start of the season."
Last season we finished fourth from bottom, so this season we aimed to finish mid table, but the way we are going we're looking to finish in the top six.
"The whole leagues very close and we only have to lose the next couple of games to find ourselves dropping down."
Corsham's next game is away against mid-table team Willand Rovers on Saturday.
"We have good reports about them," he said. "They're a good footballing side and they work hard so we won't be taking them lightly.
"But if we can perform like we have been recently we're confident we can get a result."
Woods said manager Colin Bush has a full squad to pick from.
