LYDIARD House and Park are taking their Christmas style inspirations from the inventors of the traditional English Yuletide the Victorians.
Children will be able to make their own traditional Christmas decorations at special workshops held on this and the following Sun-day.
The interior decorations at the house will be on show between Friday, December 5 until the day before Christ-mas Eve.
The decorations, currently being prepared by floristry students from Wiltshire College, Lackham, will feature natural foliage and materials, such as fir cones, walnuts, fruit, spices and bows.
For music lovers, the Purton Pear Tree Pealers handbell ringers' group has been drafted in to treat visitors to festive tunes bet-ween 2pm and 3pm.
Throughout this month, the refreshments on offer at the Forest Caf in the park will include mince pies and mulled wine.
And Saturday sees the opening of this year's Christ-mas Cracker Trail, in which young visitors to the house will be invited to follow a series of clues to qualify for a prize.
