TODAY marks the deadline for murderer Glyn Razzell to launch an appeal against his conviction for killing his estranged wife Linda.
Razzell, 44, is currently serving a life sentence in Bristol's Horfield Prison and had 21 days to submit grounds for appeal.
His defence solicitor, Rob Ross, was today expected to confirm whether Razzell is to launch an 11th hour bid to clear his name.
Razzell, a former investment manger with Swindon-based Zurich Financial Services, was sentenced to life on November 14 at Bristol Crown Court. He always denied murdering the Highworth mother-of-four.
Sentencing him, trial judge Mr Justice Christopher Pitchers, described Razzell's cold-blooded murder of Linda on March 19 last year as a "wicked offence." Her body has never been found.
Operation Docker the Swindon police investigation into Linda's disappearance and murder was the first time police in Wiltshire had brought a murder trial without a body being found.
The investigation, which cost more than £250,000, used 200 officers and specialist staff from four different forces and was led by Det Chief Insp Paul Granger.
His officers spoke to 2,600 people, followed up more than 2,200 lines of inquiry and took 1,540 statements. The 31-day trial cost £500,000.
