CHIPPENHAM Town midfielder Ellis Wilmot has credited Steve White for putting a smile back on the players' faces.
Wilmot, 23, is confident the arrival of White as the new manager at Hardenhuish will lift the club's fortunes and he admits it is nice to see everyone enjoying themselves again.
He said: "The boss has come in and taken training and to be honest he has put a smile back on our faces.
"He has not changed that much. He has just come in
and been really positive with us and has lifted our heads from off the floor.
"He has made no big changes because we are good players and we just need to believe it."
The former Bath City player made his first appearance since picking up a knee injury at Crawley a month ago in Chippenham's 1-1 draw with Basingstoke on Saturday.
He also played in the Bluebirds' 1-0 replay defeat on Tuesday night but insists it is good to be back.
"I have really enjoyed playing again. By the end of the 90 minutes I was struggling but that is to be expected.
"It is important that we do start picking up points from here because it is time we started moving in the right direction.
"From what I have seen so far, I am sure things will improve and we can take heart from our performances against Basingstoke."
Wilmot moved to Chippenham at the start of this season from Western division side Mangotsfield United.
Before that Wilmot enjoyed spells at Bath City and Team Bath.
Earlier this season his midfield performances earned him a call up for the British Universities squad.
