TOM Pang scored his 25th goal of the season to help Bradford Town to a hard-fought victory on Saturday.

The prolific striker scored on 20 minutes but the lead was soon cancelled out by a strike from Devizes' Sean Moffatt.

Adam Smith netted midway through the second half to seal victory for Bradford but manager Mark Hodkinson was not impressed with his side's performance.

He said: "It was a pretty dire match. We were not that good but at least we got a result in the end.

"Our home form this season has not been very good. For some reason we can't seem to get it together at home yet we are excellent away from home.

"All credit to Devizes they had a couple of midfielders who have been around and were able to get their foot on the ball but we need to be better than that."

Hodkinson has this week signed young midfielder Ben Tugwell. Tugwell has played for Melksham but has not been playing for the last year.

The Bradford manager would like to bring in some more fresh faces but admits it is hard to do it because they have got no reserve team.

He said: "I don't want to annoy our current players by bringing in new players.

"Our reserve team folded earlier this season and we desperately need one.

"With promotion realistically out of our hands, we might look at this season as a transitional one and then look to build next season when we have a reserve team."

More than half of the Wiltshire League programme was washed out due to overnight rain.

One of the few Premier Division games to get the go-ahead was the match between local rivals AFC Stratton and Wroughton, the home side gaining a narrow 3-2 victory.

Stratton had the edge in the early exchanges and Rick Casey hit the Wroughton bar before Gareth Davis gave them the lead.

Wroughton fought back, and James Richards equalised following some indifferent defending.

Richards was again on the scoresheet just before the break, converting a penalty after Martin Stanley had tripped a Wroughton forward in the box. But the sides were level again at half time when Mickey Solen scored.

There were chances at either end in the second half before Davis scored the winner 10 minutes from time.

Aldbourne and Purton drew 2-2, the visitors snatching an equaliser in the last minutes of the game.

Corsham Town and Marlborough Town fought out an entertaining game, with the honours going to the home side 2-0.

After a goalless first 45 minutes, Adam Taylor gave Corsham the lead midway through the second half, Dean Fisher making sure of victory with a second soon after.

Malmesbury Victoria won their first game of the season with an 8-0 away win over Pewsey Vale Reserves.

Cricklade Town Reserves and AFC Stratton Reserves fought out a close battle in Junior Division One, the home side winning 3-2.

There was another close game at Wanborough, where the home side ran out 3-2 winners over Aldbourne Reserves thanks to a last-minute penalty from Danny Hawkins.

Sherston beat Westside 3-1 thanks to goals from Kenny Cartiledge, Tony Vizard and Steve Wicks. Kevin Miller replied for the visitors.

QT Swindon won their first game of the season in Junior Division Two, beating Lower Stratton 3-2.

New College bounced back from last weekend's defeat with a 6-1 away win over Westside Reserves.

West Swindon were made to struggle by visitors Green Baize before running out 2-1 winners.
