NEIL Kirkpatrick has set his Trowbridge side a target of seven points in the next three games ahead of tomorrow's match at Shrewton Reserves.

Trowbridge are top of the league, four points ahead of their closest challengers Biddestone, but Kirkpatrick insists there is still a lot to play for.

He said: "There is still a long way to go till the end of the season and some very tough matches left to play.

"We just have to keep grinding out results and anyone who thinks we have already won the league has to wake up and get real.

"Our next three games are against Shrewton, Marlborough at home, and Melksham away and I have given the lads a target of getting seven points. We only got four from these games last season."

He continued: "Shrewton will be a very tough game. They have got the best defensive record, bar us, in the league and it should give the lads a wake-up call.

"If anyone thinks it is going to be easy then they are in for a shock.

"Shrewton's first team are away at Chard tomorrow and Chard's last match was cancelled so if that happens again they may have some first team players available to them."

Last weekend's cup quarter final against Stratton was postponed due to Trowbridge's Woodmarsh pitch being waterlogged and Kirkpatrick admits it was frustrating.

He said: "That is the trouble with our place as when it rains it does get very wet down there.

"We maybe could have played in the end but that would have wrecked the pitch long term."
