SHRIVENHAM chief Alan Dyton believes he has stolen a march on a host of other local clubs after clinching the signature of Highworth ace Nathan Holt.
Attacking midfielder Holt, who was with Dyton at Supermarine, goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup third round home tie against Wantage Town Reserves.
And the Shrivenham chief cannot contain his delight at the capture of such a key player.
"Nathan is a class act, an excellent player who is good at what he does,'' said Dyton.
"Once it is out that he has joined us, I think a lot of other clubs will think they have missed the boat.''
Due to work and family commitments, Holt did not feature for Highworth, but Dyton added: "I spoke to him and he told me he wanted to come to Shrivenham. It's excellent that we have him with us.''
As well as Holt, Mike Kitchen and top scorer Alex Green return, although Michael Silvanus, Tom Jones, Doug Imrie, Vinny Parker and Gio Desando are all still missing.
In Division One West, leaders Purton are in cup action and could be shunted from top spot if Ardley defeat Quarry Nomads.
Fifth-from-bottom Malmesbury Vics entertain Middle Barton, who are one place below them, while Cirencester United could jump to mid-table with a win over second-from-bottom Adderbury Park.
In Reserve Division One, Wootton Bassett Town host Henley and Fairford are at home against Kidlington, while Cirencester United travel to Milton.
