FAIRFORD boss Mark Webb admits tomorrow's Cherry Red Records Challenge Cup second round opponents Hungerford Town will be aching for revenge on his side.

Webb's men thumped their rivals who lie second in the Hellenic Premier Division 3-1 a few weeks ago and are expecting some payback.

But Webb said: "Although the league is important, for a club our size cup competitions are just as important.

"You only have to win six matches to win the cup and we have proved we can do that in the last five or six years.''

Webb welcomes a couple of new players into the fold for tomorrow's trip.

Defender Chris Murray returns from an 18-month stint in Australia, while Steve Thomas is also set to play after featuring in his first game of the season last week.

But Fairford are without Lee Stoddart because of work commitments, while Neil Matthews suffered a knock against Pewsey last Saturday and also misses out.

Jamie Webb comes in to the squad.

Purton can carry their superb unbeaten run in Division One West into the cup as they travel to Headington Amateurs, who are towards the bottom of the same division.

In the Supplementary Cup preliminary round, Wootton Bassett Town face a tough-looking trip to Premier Division high-flyers Slimbridge.

Stu Lamont and Matty Bennett are both missing, with boss Pete Yeardley set to make call-ups from his reserves.

Highworth are the only local Premier Division side in action and host Hook Norton in a match boss John Fisher describes as a "must-win game''.

Fisher is desperate not to let league leaders Didcot escape too far ahead after their 4-0 win over Carterton in midweek took them top.

The Highworth chief said: "They are the side we have really got to catch up with because they are flying at the moment.

"We must win these next two games to get back in touch.''

Mark Belcher had a knee operation yesterday and will miss the next four or five weeks.

But Fisher can welcome Tony Joyce back into the squad.
