GLYN Razzell, who was last month found guilty of murdering his estranged wife Linda, is planning to appeal against his conviction.
Razzell, 44, is currently serving a life sentence in Bristol's Horfield Prison.
His solicitor, Rob Ross, said: "He obviously maintains he did not kill his wife and I feel quite sure he will continue to maintain he did not kill his wife."
Mr Ross said Razzell, a former investment manager with Swindon-based Zurich Financial Services, had been surprised when the jury at Bristol Crown Court convicted him.
And he added that the legal team were unhappy with several of the judge's actions during the trial.
Sentencing him last month, trial judge Mr Justice Christopher Pitchers described Razzell's murder of Linda on March 19 last year as a "wicked offence".
Highworth mother-of-four, Linda Razzell disappeared on the way to work in March last year. Her body has never been found.
