NEWSAGENTS are unsung heroes. Who else gets up at an hour which for most people is still last night and is ready to sell newspapers and assorted other vital items when the lark is still yawning?
Janice and David Vowles have been doing the job in High Street, Highworth for 21 years, and have not taken a day off in seven years. They have now decided to retire and will close their shop for the last time on Saturday.
It will be a sad day for the town, but one can only wish the couple many years of happiness and relaxation. They deserve it.
