MANY employees from Nationwide's head office in Swindon have been highly commended by the building society for their charity work.
At the Employee Community Awards, held recently at Nationwide House, seven of the 20 awards went to Swindon-based employees, who joined colleagues from throughout the UK to be recognised for their endeavours.
Among the Swindon workers honoured were Andrew Janssen of the Legal Compliance department, Sarah Wintle of Member Services, Pam Tilt of Retail Support and running team members Ian Smith, Terri Clark, Martyn Foard and Kyle Henly.
Philip Williamson, Nationwide's chief executive, who presented the awards, said: "Charitable support and community involvement are at the very heart of Nationwide.
"This is not just through our major partnerships with national organisations but perhaps more importantly through the unstinting effort and energy devoted by our employees to supporting their local communities.
"I'm proud to congratulate Nationwide employees who are at the very forefront of this incredible commitment."
