Another round of school league tables and Wiltshire's primary schools have fared well.

If the government insists on pitching our children's schools against each other then at least the new 'value added' measures in this week's tables show they at last appreciate just how much pupils are progressing.

Every parent wants their child to do well and primary school age is when they can gain the most.

The government is determined to keep assessing performance but as always staff and pupils can give themselves a pat on the back knowing they have achieved excellent results.
