CIRENCESTER could not dampen a buoyant Chippenham at Under 16s level, as the Wiltshire side won 27-5.

Chippenham broke the deadlock as Matthew Clarke dived over to open the scoring.

Jason Deamer playing at right-wing, scored the second and centre Max Sparrow touched down the third.

All three tries went unconverted but Chippenham had a 15-0 lead at half-time.

The second half saw Ciren come back into it and an unconverted try gave them hope.

But a blindside move gave Chippenham No 8 John Boddington a run through the cover defence for a try that Lloyd Wiltshire converted. Another try came from Ashley Hurcombe.

IT was a bad day for Chippenham's under 10 squad as they picked up no victories from clashes against Wootton Bassett and Keynsham.

The Sharks lost 25-0 to Keynsham and, although Jamie Bevan scored once against Wootton Bassett, they were still beaten 25-5.

In the second match against Keynsham, they fared little better, as the Bristol side won 15-0.

UNDER NINES

Chippenham Sharks opened up with a 15-10 loss against Keynsham, Daniel Vertessy scoring both for the Wiltshire side.

The Thrashers fared less well against Wootton Bassett, as Lawrence Allin scored on his debut.

In the final match, a mixed Chippenham line-up took on Keynsham and won 20-5, with two tries each from Daniel Vertessy and Jamie Atkin.

UNDER EIGHTS

IN A high-scoring clash, Chippenham edged Keynsham 10-8, Oscar Ryan opened Chippenham's account and added another later, Bradley Doggett scoring a hat-trick, Alexander Clark another.

The B side also won, beating Wootton Bassett 5-2, with fine tries from Hayden Han and Dean Oatley.
