Wootton Bassett Under 12s fielded two sides against Chippenham on Sunday the first time this has happened.
The first team, despite missing five key players, lost to a well drilled Chippenham side 14-0, hooker Jay Pickering and centre Alistair Rodgers scoring with full-back Harry Smith converting both.
Bassett Barbarians, playing together for the first time, soon settled into their stride and scored an early converted try.
However Chippenham's greater cohesion brought them the win 33-7.
Centre Rhys Taylor scored a hat-trick of tries with fly-half Edwin Dalby and scrum-half Matt Burrows adding one apiece.
Two conversions each were kicked by Dalby and Taylor.
