A local building contractor says it is 'delighted' at winning a prestigious national award for business excellence.
Construction company E W Beard, which employs more than 160 people at its offices in Swindon and Oxford, is one of about 20 individuals, clients, product manufacturers and large and small firms commended for their commitment to change in the construction industry.
The accolade recognises the firm's 'contribution to develop and deliver best practice within the construction industry nationally over the past five years'.
Managing director Mark Beard was presented with the award by Dennis Lenard, chief executive of industry advisory group Constructing Excellence, at a ceremony in London attended by Sir John Egan, president of the Confederation of British Industry, and Sir Michael Latham, chairman of the Construction Industry Training Board.
After the presentation, Mr Beard said: "I am delighted to receive this prestigious national award on behalf of the company.
"I am proud that it recognises the quality of E W Beard's management team and staff."
