Ref. 28107-42STARS appearing at the Wyvern Theatre's Goldilocks pantomime have teamed up to give a cancer charity a boost.

Goldilocks herself - Vicky Binns, who until recently played troubled teenager Ollie Reynolds in ITV's Emmerdale - was one of the stars who helped launch Cancer Research UK's Silver Star badge scheme.

The badge scheme is raising money for research into diseases that affect children.

Throughout December silver stars will be sold in shops, schools and businesses for a suggested donation of £1.

Vicky said: ''It's fantastic that not only do we get the chance to have a really good time doing panto but we are also able to give our support to such a worthy cause and hopefully encourage others to do the same. It is a fantastic charity and I am honoured to have been able to help out."

Darren Edwards from the Wyvern said: "We were delighted to promote the new star badge for Cancer Research and our cast were only to happy to give up their time freely to launch this appeal. We have badges available at the Wyvern."

Goldilocks And The Three Bears, which also stars Ross Davidson and Liam Dolan, opens on Saturday and runs until January 10. Ticket details are available on 01793 524481.
