HIGHWORTH were on the wrong end of some dubious refereeing decisions as they were beaten 2-0 at Carterton in the Hellenic Premier Division last night.

Fresh from some controversial calls against Hook Norton on Saturday, John Fisher's side fell foul of the officials again as both Carterton goals appeared to be well offside.

Fisher said: "I just couldn't believe those decisions.

"We've played quite well and had a couple of efforts cleared off the line but we're not getting any luck at the moment."

Shrivenham were beaten 3-1 at Chipping Norton in the second round of the Challenge Cup.

Alex Green netted the Shrivenham goal.

Devizes continue to dwell in the bottom three of the Screwfix Premier Division after a 2-0 home defeat to title hopefuls Brislington.

An experimental Cirencester side failed to produce the upset many had anticipated when they crashed 3-0 at Bath in the Dr Martens Cup to complete a miserable night for local non-league sides.

Chippenham are in Dr Martens Cup action this evening when they travel to Wales to face Newport County.

The two sides have already met at Spytty Park in the league this season, with the Bluebirds throwing away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2.

On-loan Ian Herring is set to make his first start on his second spell at the club.
