A NEW school hall in Brink-worth, is to become a facility for the whole village, with the help of a £20,000 grant from the Countryside Agency.
The hall, which is being built at Earl Danby's Lower School is being funded jointly by Wiltshire County Council and the school.
But the village community association trustees, who put money aside many years ago for a new hall, applied for grant aid to add a kitchen, toilets and independent access so residents can make use of it.
There are also plans to increase the parish share of the council tax for the next year only, to provide another £3,000.
Currently staff at the 70-strong school have to move tables and chairs in order to have an assembly and children eat lunch in their classrooms.
