The former Calne Film Society has changed its name to Calne Cinema in a bid to attract more people.
Members changed the name at the suggestion of Tabby Dawson, 16, from John Bentley School.
She said: "It is not a society, it is a group that puts on films in the town hall."
The hall has a capacity of more than 140 but the group has been attracting an average of only 30 people.
Tickets cost £2.50 and viewers watch a large screen.
Each month there is both a matinee and an evening showing of mainstream, recently-released films.
The next screenings will be on December 20 at 3pm and 7pm.
The matinee has not been confirmed but the evening show is The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen starring David Hemmings, of Anchor Road, who died last week.
"We will hopefully be showing the film in his memory now," said Miss Dawson.
