STEVE WHITE hopes to break his managerial duck as Chippenham Town make the daunting trip to Havant & Waterlooville tomorrow.

The Bluebirds' performances have improved under White's leadership, but for all the endeavour, Chalky's charges have yet to win in three games since the former Swindon Town star took the Hardenhuish hotseat.

They dominated against Welling last weekend but were unable to convert their numerous openings and fell to a 2-0 defeat.

"We are feeling positive, but we have to start turning that positivity into results," said White (pictured above).

"We'll go to Havant as underdogs but we can get a result.

"Havant are in the top seven but they have won most of their games by the odd goal which suggests they are beatable."

While White continues to search for more firepower to convert the chances, Havant have an embarrassment of riches in that department.

Chukkie Eribenne is among the league's top scorers, ably assisted by former Bournemouth striker David Town and the highly-rated James Taylor.

Former Swindon midfielder Bobby Howe is also a regular for Havant.

Howe could come up against former midfield partner Keith O'Halloran who is fully fit again.

On-loan Ian Herring is also vying for a place in central midfield but may be used at right-back.

Mark Badman will be on the bench after recovering from a hernia and White's striking options should be boosted by the return of Martin Paul who is over the worst of a calf strain.

While the Hardenhuish injury list appears to be easing, Steve Brown, Simon Charity, Pat Mountain and Colin Towler remain sidelined with long-term problems.

Town remain bottom of the Premier Division on 14 points, with neighbours Bath on 15 and Chelmsford third from bottom on 19.

Likely Chippenham line-up: Hervin, Herring, Thorne, Davies, Gould, Horgan, O'Halloran, Walker, WIlmot, Paul, Griffin.
