CHRIS Stiles scored his fourth hat-trick of the season to sweep Broughton Gifford into the Wiltshire Junior Cup quarter-finals with a tremendous 7-0 giant-killing triumph over County League Division One Westside.
Tom Staddon and John Hubbard established a two-goal half-time cushion before Stiles struck. Substitutes Wayne Bailey and Johnathan Price then completed Gifford's eighth straight win.
Gifford's reward is a home tie against Westwood Contracts, who were 4-3 extra-time winners over Porton Sports. Division One rivals Rudloe and The Deverills are also through to the last eight and will now meet each other, thus guaranteeing the league at least one team in the semi-final draw.
In their third cup meeting of the season Heytesbury and Rudloe produced nine goals but it was Rudloe's pace up front that took them to a 6-3 win.
Richard Daly gave Heytesbury the lead but Rudloe took command with goals from Craig Gingell (2), Stuart Hynes, Luke Risbrook, Paul Newbury and Matt Dancey. Colin Bennett and Paul Riley replied for Heytesbury.
The Deverills had to thank Rowan King for an 88th minute equaliser to take their tie into extra-time and a subsequent 4-1 penalty shoot-out decider against Southbrook Inn. Danny Hargreaves, who earlier had given Deverills the lead before the Swindon side led 2-1, scored one of the spot kicks, with Scott Gallazi, Adrian Evans and Greg Lewis also converting.
North Bradley Saints and Seend United's bid to avenge defeats by the same opponents in last season's competition failed by the odd goal. Richard Bliha put Saints a goal up against cup holders Windmill, formerly known as 147.
However a combination of missed chances, which cost them last season's semi-final, a penalty and slack defending led to a 2-1 exit.
Seend were beaten 3-2 by last season's finalists Ferndale-Rodbourne last term and suffered an identical reverse this time round. Luke Ballinger gave Seend the lead against the County League opposition before the teenager produced an equaliser after Ferndale had hit back. Seend were always in the hunt with the woodwork denying them but it was Ferndale who went through for a repeat of last season's final against Windmill.
There was no cup joy either for Dursley Arms, who despite Kevin O'Connor's strike reducing a two-goal deficit were finally beaten 5-1 by another County League side, Blunsdon United, who now visit Zurich, who were 6-1 winners over Ridgeway.
